We inform our customers that, on 23 July 2021, the National Secretariat of the U.S.B. - Private Work has proclaimed a 4-hours strike of local public transport for the following claims:
• The nationalization of strategic sectors and companies
• The reduction of working hours to counter the negative effects of the technological revolution;
• The overcoming of the penalizing entry salaries guaranteeing the first and second level contractual application to new hires;
• workers‘ and service safety, introduction of the crime of homicide at work;
• The minimum wage by law against the practice of atypical contracts and the fight against insecurity;
• the fight against any form of gender discrimination, racism and sexism;
• The development of a system of social safety nets, adapted to the post-pandemic context;
• The freezing of termination and no liberalization of tenders;
• free exercise of the right to strike in essential public services;
• Real economic penalties to be borne by companies for delays in contract renewals and adequate salary recoveries.
This abstention, if not revoked, may lead to delays or cancellations of rail and bus services in the time slots:
from 8:30 to 12:30.
In addition, it is reported that in the previous strike, proclaimed by the same organization, there were no personnel adhesions.
However, it should be noticed that:
• the strike constitutes a constitutionally guaranteed individual right, albeit for collective exercise, and that there is no obligation for the worker to declare in advance his abstention from work;
• the worker can join any protest even if he is not part of the trade union that has proclaimed or joined the strike.
