Following the recent introduction of online passes, which can be purchased through the Co.Tr.A.P. website and app, it is necessary to mention all the types of tickets currently in use and the correct methods for validating them on buses equipped with the new validation devices.

IN SUMMARY:

One-way tickets, issued by participating agencies, must be validated upon boarding. Make sure to insert the ticket correctly into the ticket validator, ensuring it is inserted facing the right way, i.e., with the arrow and the word "VALIDATION." Validation is confirmed when the display background turns GREEN and the fare and route text appear. At the same time, the ticket is returned from the validator with the date and time stamped, along with a black box that cancels the original QR code and generates a new adjacent QR code certifying its use.

For monthly or weekly passes issued by participating agencies, validation must be performed each time you board (no longer just on the first day of the month or week), following the entry rules indicated above. If validated correctly, the display turns GREEN and displays the number of journeys used and those still remaining on the pass.

If the ticket or pass is inserted the wrong way round, or if the QR code simply fails to be read, the ticket validator will return the ticket with an error message and a RED background on the display. In this case, the validation process must be repeated, taking care to check the correct way round.

Finally, for single-journey tickets issued online, the validation procedure requires that the QR code, printed on an A4 paper ticket or on a device, be held up to the reader located at the bottom of the validator each time aboard the bus for scanning and cancellation. Monthly and weekly pass holders must follow the same procedure each time aboard.

The display, after each scan, provides information on the route and remaining journeys.

In this regard, it is important to remember that if the number of journeys included in the pass expires within the month or week of use, the customer must purchase additional travel tickets to continue traveling. Remember that at the end of the month or week, any remaining journeys, still available and not used, are cancelled and cannot be combined.

Strict compliance is recommended.
